Construction in the former Muppets section of Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues, as a new aerial photo has revealed that the Muppets store, Stage 1 Company Store, has been entirely demolished.
Muppets Store Fully Demolished

A new aerial photo shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Bioreconstruct shows that the former shop has been reduced to rubble, following the kickstart to demolition on July 30. Just one day later, most of the shop was already torn down.
In addition to the shop being torn down, Bioreconstruct also noted that a structural frame for a facade was also removed, seen in the top center of the photo above, past the gate posts. Outside of the MuppetVision 3D entrance, more pavement has been torn up.

We were also able to grab some street-level pictures of the now demolished Muppets Store. See the photos above to compare what the areas looked like before and after to demolition. Guests looking over the construction walls can now see straight back to the building facades past the former store, which were once blocked from view.

Concrete work and more demolition is still occurring behind the walls, although Stage 1 Company Store should be the only building to be fully demolished. According to concept art, all other areas and buildings will be repurposed for the upcoming land.
Stage 1 Company Store never officially reopened following the COVID-19 closures in 2020, and was only used for special events and limited-time shopping opportunities after that. Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit for its demolition in May 2025.
MuppetVision 3D and PizzeRizzo permanently closed at the end of the operating day on June 7, 2025. Work on transforming the area for Monsters, Inc. began shortly afterward, starting with the removal of the Miss Piggy as Lady Liberty statue.
All of this work comes as part of preparation for a new Monsters, Inc.-themed land, which will include the long-rumored door coaster and Disney’s first-ever vertical lift. The other attraction for the land will be a new theater show in the former home of MuppetVision 3D, which will be renamed “The Glob.” The land will also offer shopping and dining venues.
The Muppets are set to find a new home on Sunset Boulevard, taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which currently features Aerosmith. No closing date for the attraction in its current state has been announced.
