UPDATE: Disney Re-Files Permit for Disney Springs Fencing, Drone Show Likely Not Returning

A “new” construction permit for the former drone staging area in Disney Springs is actually an old permit that Disney had to re-file and is not an indication that a drone show will return.

The Notice of Commencement filed by Walt Disney World appears to be for the installation of 870 feet of 6-foot-high fencing and five gates at Disney Springs. However, this is the fence installed for Disney Dreams That Soar last year.

The notice is actually an old permit that Disney had to re-file due to construction work related to the remaining fencing. It is not for the construction of a new or updated staging area.

Disney originally filed the permit in early 2024 for the Disney Dreams That Soar drone show, which ran from May 24, 2024, through September 2, 2024. It was the district’s second drone show, following the 2016 Starbright Holidays show.
