The Boneyard is now extinct, and crews are removing foliage and canopies from the play area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Foliage and Canopies Removed

On our visit to Animal Kingdom, we saw that crews removed some of the foliage and canopies that covered The Boneyard play area.
Last week we saw the closure of The Boneyard on September 1, and a maze of construction walls was installed overnight to help navigate guests to the DINOSAUR ride and other nearby attractions.

The Boneyard play area utilized giant canopies to protect guests from the sun and weather, but some are now gone from the area. There was also foliage, but a portion of that is now missing as well.
Take a final look at The Boneyard.
Other DinoLand Updates

Behind construction walls, the dinosaur fossil is still up. There is also a giant mound of dirt across from The Boneyard, and we spotted some type of machinery – possibly a crane.

We can still see signs for the play area as well as some canopies and framing.

One of the construction walls has a mural of Tropical Americas, the new land coming to Animal Kingdom when DinoLand goes completely extinct next year.

So far, there are no updates to the DINOSAUR attraction entrance, Wilderness Explorer station, or gift shop.
