Indiana Jones and Encanto Tropical Americas Concept Art Installed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Concept art for the new Encanto and Indiana Jones rides is now on display in DinoLand, U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The land is slowly being demolished to become a new Tropical Americas land.

Tropical Americas Construction Walls Concept Art

The Encanto concept art is on a wall near The Boneyard, which closed permanently this week. It’s similar to previously released concept art, featuring the Madrigal family in Antonio’s room with his animal friends. The only change to the artwork is that riders have been removed from the foreground.

The first-ever Encanto ride begins on the day Antonio receives his gift of talking to animals. Guests will journey through Casita on furniture brought to life.

Along the walls, extending out from the Encanto art, are yellow butterflies, a motif from the film. These then transition into a different flying creature.

Two stylized bat stickers with patterns evoke the Animal Kingdom on a green painted wooden surface.

These small bat creatures may be Camazotz, bat-like spirits from Maya mythology. They appear to be wearing Maya-style accessories.

The new Indiana Jones ride is set in a Maya temple, and the bats lead to concept art of that temple. The ride replaces DINOSAUR, which uses the same ride system and nearly identical ride track as Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

This will be a new version of the attraction. Indy has heard stories of a mythical creature in the temple and ventures inside to investigate. The Camazotz may not be the legendary creature, but could still appear in the ride. The concept art on the construction walls appears to be the same as the previously released artwork.

The bats continue down the walls around the corner. There is a winding path of construction walls leading to DINOSAUR, which is still open — for now.

DINOSAUR Closing

DINOSAUR, along with Restaurantosaurus, will permanently close in February 2026. The last day to ride the ride will be February 1. This day will mark the official extinction of DinoLand, U.S.A., following The Boneyard’s closure and the closure of Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, including TriceraTop Spin and the Dinosaur Treasures gift shop.

Tropical Americas will include the village of Pueblo Esperanza with a carousel of Disney animals. The land is set to open in 2027. Check out the models of Pueblo Esperanza and Casita.
