The refurbishment of the Main Street train station at Magic Kingdom is almost complete, with only one section of stairs remaining closed.

The train station’s two side staircases are now both open, following a period when they were each closed. A majority of the station’s central staircase is also open, though the east side remains blocked by a rope on the first landing.

Located at the top of the stairs is a small section of scrim and construction walls, though they only block a relatively small area compared to the majority of the project.

The balcony area got new flooring and reopened in July. This area is the last sign of construction on the whole station.

The refurbishment project on the Main STreet train station began in January 2025. The Walt Disney World Railroad has continued to operate, although it’s currently in shuttle mode due to the closure of the Frontierland train station. The Frontierland station is closed for construction of the park’s Cars expansion and Disney Villains land. The station won’t reopen and the railroad are not expected to resume normal operations until both are complete.
