DINOSAUR On-Ride Photo Replaced Ahead of Permanent Closure at Animal Kingdom

Although it’s closing in just a few months, DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a new on-ride photo.

On-Ride DINOSAUR Animal Kingdom Photo Update

Eight people ride DINOSAUR at Animal Kingdom, captured in an on-ride photo frame as they react with fear and excitement.

The new frame is green with the year, 2025, on the left. A Carnotaurus is pictured in the lower left corner. An asteroid is in the upper right corner. In the lower right corner is the DINOSAUR logo and tagline — “It’s fast! It’s a blast! It’s in the past!” There is also a “You made it!” speech bubble and a pterosaur saying, “Nice work!” Some ferns, footprints, and a spiral shell fill out the design.

The former frame is still pictured on a sign in The Dino Institute gift shop. It resembled rusty metal with a fake stapled label that had an expedition number, vehicle (Time Rover EMV 20.17), period (65,000,000 B.C.), and specimen (Iguanodon) listed next to The Dino Institute logo. The DINOSAUR logo and tagline were in the lower right corner.

DINOSAUR Closing

The final day to ride DINOSAUR will be February 1, 2026. That day will mark the official extinction of DinoLand, U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which has been closing in phases to make way for a new Tropical Americas land.

DINOSAUR will become an Indiana Jones ride. It’s expected to keep the same ride track, which is nearly identical to Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, but will have all new sets. Though it will be similar to the existing Indiana Jones rides, it will have a new story.

The land will also have a new Encanto attraction, a carousel of Disney animals, and a playground.
