Guests Being Redirected Through Exit to Enter the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom

There was reportedly an oil spill at The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom early Friday morning, leading Cast Members to re-route guests through the ride’s exit.

When we stopped by the ride at 8:15 a.m., we saw Cast Members putting mats down in the entrance archway. We initially thought it could be related to recent pavement work but then heard that there was an oil spill.

The stand-by and Lightning Lane entrances were closed. Instead, guests looking to ride were being routed around the spill through the exit archway.

By 9:45 a.m., the spill had been cleaned up enough for the entrances to reopen. It still smelled like oil, however.

At the stand-by entryway, a black panel has replaced a cut-out section of the faux cobblestone pavement. This section of pavement was redone just a few months ago.

The construction walls in the area block the view of Rivers of America, now drained and ready for construction of the new Cars expansion to Frontierland. There is also scrim in the interactive queue of The Haunted Mansion. Construction markers were added to the ride’s graveyard a few weeks ago, and the area might be demolished to create a new walkway as part of Cars construction.
