Universal Studios Japan announced the details of the 2025 Christmas celebration, Universal Christmas Joy, including a new food festival and a new nighttime show.

Universal Christmas Joy Dates & Theme

The Christmas event will be from Wednesday, November 19, 2025, to Sunday, January 4, 2026.

This year’s theme is “Today, I decorate my own happiness.”

As the city begins to glow with Christmas illuminations, people may find themselves comparing their happiness with others or waiting for someone else to make them happy. But this Christmas, Universal Studios Japan invites you to dive into a place of your own choosing and experience a new way of spending the season: making yourself happy.

Step into the park this winter and create a Christmas where you shine brighter than anyone else and your heart is filled with the “most joyful” happiness you’ve ever felt.

*NEW* Universal Christmas Food Festival

Universal described the food festival as “A sparkling and heartwarming Christmas market full of themed foods inspired by beloved characters.” The food festival will run from November 4 through January 4, with the Christmas Market running until December 30.

The Christmas Market will be in the New York area. Studio Stars Restaurant in the Hollywood area will also participate.

There will be menu items inspired by Snoopy, Sesame Street friends, Hello Kitty, and warm winter foods.

*NEW* Light Up the Night Christmas Celebration

This will be a “nighttime Christmas show filled with light, snow, music, and emotional storytelling.”

The show will include live singers, dancers, Hello Kitty, Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Elmo, and more Sesame Street friends. The finale will sparkle with candles, lanterns, guest lights, snow, and fireworks.

Light Up the Night will be in Gramercy Park in the New York area twice daily. It’s approximately 30 minutes.

Hogwarts Magical Night – Winter Magic

Projection mapping transforms Hogwarts Castle into a breathtaking winter wonderland with owls delivering presents, cheerful snowmen, and magical winter scenery.

Character Greetings & Holiday Shows

The Minion Jingle Bello Meet & Greet will feature Minions in their holiday costumes.

Universal Wonderland characters like Charlie Brown, Elmo, and Hello Kitty will also don winter wear.

Power of Rock – Holiday Rockin’!

This energetic show features live performers singing classic Christmas songs in the rock style.

Ultra-VIP Christmas Experience
