Exterior Refurbishment Begins on Discovery Trading Company at Animal Kingdom

Discovery Trading Company at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is going through an exterior refurbishment.

The Discovery Island shop remains open but one set of doors is blocked by a green scrim and rolling planters. The scrims and planters effectively block views of the construction zone. But we can see some of the themed carvings and lanterns still intact.

We also noticed no music was playing inside the shop.

Discovery Trading Company is an extension of Riverside Depot. Together they are the park’s flagship merchandise location. The shops are on the right after entering the park and arriving on Discovery Island.

Nearby is the Tree of Life, where Zootopia: Better Zoogether will debut later this year. A sign was installed at the show’s entrance earlier this month but has not been revealed.
