Walt Disney World has reactivated at least some of the special lighting effects on entrance tapstiles.
Tapstile Entrance Effects Return

On Tuesday, we noted that special effects had been missing for several days. These included the purple and yellow lighting effect for Annual Passholders, the “Welcome Home” sound effect for Disney Vacation Club Members, and other unique MagicBand-related effects. Instead, the Mickey icon just lit up green and played the standard sound effect. We noticed the change at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The effects are often temporarily deactivated in the mornings to help prevent longer lines at park entrances but this was change was evident at all hours.
As of Wednesday, at least the Passholder effect is back at Magic Kingdom. See it in our video below.
The missing effects may have been due to an error.
