Meet Zombies and HamiKuma with the Universal Studios Japan R.I.P Tour for HHN 2025

WDWNT was able to experience Universal Studios Japan’s version of an R.I.P. Tour during Halloween Horror Nights 2025. We now have a full breakdown of our experience, as well as a comparison to the U.S. version of the tour.

Zombie Greeting

Guests with specialty event tickets can enjoy “lounge time” for 30 minutes before the event starts, where they can interact with and meet zombies.

A group poses with creepy monster actors under red and purple lights at USJ’s HHN 2025, against a dark industrial wall.

Guests have access to the lounge beginning at 4:30 p.m., and certain drinks are included. We were led to Stage 18 via backstage walkways to meet and give “injections” to the zombies.

HamiKuma Meet & Greet

A person in a fierce, furry bear costume poses with arms up before colorful RIP Tour graffiti at USJ.

As a part of the R.I.P. Tour, guests also have access to a HamiKuma and HamiKuma Soul meet and greet between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

A person in a fluffy white bear costume with blue eyes and a broken crown stands on a USJ HHN 2025 fantasy background.

However, unlike the typical meet and greet, R.I.P Tour guests cannot pick their time. They will assign a time for you, but guests are allowed to watch HamiKuma’s Sweet Scream Party in a priority area of Gramercy Park.

Souvenirs

R.I.P. ticket holders also receive special souvenirs, including a reflective credential with the “Halloween Horror Nights” graphic and R.I.P Tour designation. The opposite side features the USJ VIP Experience logo.

A round pink USJ bag with a colorful patchwork bear face and "UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN" at the bottom.

Guests are also given one of two HamiKuma coin pouches. The first is a pink version styled like HamiKuma Candy, who has multicolored teeth and a bite mark on one ear.

A hand holds a red tag with a creepy teddy bear and "Hamkyma"—perfect for your USJ RIP Tour memento.

This pouch has a diamond-shaped tag with an image of the original HamiKuma.

Round blue bag with cartoon bear face, broken horn, chains—a creepy USJ accessory perfect for your next HHN 2025 RIP Tour.

The second pouch is also round, but has an image of HamiKuma Punk on a blue background.

Rounding out the group, this tag is gray with an image of HamiKuma Soul and the R.I.P. Tour logo.

Express Pass & Experiences

Actors in military costumes perform on stage with barrels, sandbags, and USJ’s Umbrella Corporation logos.

Unlike the American version of an R.I.P. Tour, no house tours are part of this experience. However, ticket holders are given Express Pass exclusively for Resident Evil: Night of Heroes, Chucky’s Carnival of Chaos, and the Chainsaw Man: The Chaos 4-D. We were also given Express Pass for other rides and houses.

The actual “tour” is only two hours long, although the 30 minutes of lounge time and meet & greets can be experienced beforehand. During the event, guests are taken to the houses to use the Express Passes, but are not led through personally by the guide.

We would consider this more of a V.I.P Tour versus the R.I.P Tours we are used to at Universal Studios Florida and Hollywood.
