Since our last aerial look, crews have poured more concrete, almost filling the rectangle carved out for the new ride building. The foundation is set several feet into the ground where there used to be a Cast Member parking lot behind Muppets Courtyard. Construction vehicles are lined up along the edge of the construction zone.

Some tarps cover the concrete that was most recently poured. At the top of the above photo, crew members are preparing concrete forms for another section of flooring. They are using an excavator to move dirt out of the way.

The concrete pillars at the top were created by drilling holes with an auger then filling them with concrete. Dirt was then excavated around the pillars and they were cut to the right height, which you can see in the area where crew members are working. The dirt is flattened around the pillars and then the concrete floor is poured.

Meanwhile in what once was Muppets Courtyard, there isn’t a lot to see. But as we’ve seen from the ground, the exterior of the MuppetVision 3D theater is being stripped of theming so more monstrous elements can be added. Paneling has been removed from the corners of the section that holds the actual theater, revealing the stones underneath.

This wider aerial view shows the Monsters, Inc. coaster site in relation to Muppets Courtyard, the adjacent Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the parking lots. The green-roofed buildings in this photo are all backstage facilities.

Animated characters Sulley and Mike from Monsters, Inc. are escaping through a door on a roller-coaster-like track, akin to a suspended coaster, while riders in yellow seats watch the scene. A child is held by Sulley.

The land is expected to be named Monstropolis, after the city in the first Monsters, Inc. film. The roller-coaster will be Disney’s first vertical life and first suspended coaster. It will take guests into the door vault alongside Mike, Sulley, and Boo.
