Disney Cruise Line Takes Over Disney Adventure

Disney Cruise Line has officially taken possession of the Disney Adventure from the Meyer Werft shipyard.

Disney Cruise Line Singapore said on Instagram, “As Disney Cruise Line and shipbuilder Meyer Werft finalized the handover of the ship, the Disney Adventure is now one step closer to calling Singapore home! The Maiden Voyage sets sail March 2026, welcoming guests on board for magical moments at sea.”

Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie were joined by Captain Wolfgang, Shipyard Captain; Bernd Eikens, CEO of Meyer Werft; Philip Gennotte, Disney Cruise Line Portfolio Senior Executive Project Management, Newbuild and Development, Walt Disney Imagineering; Mike Davie, Project Management Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering; and Captain Fabian, Disney Cruise Line Captain.

The Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage will sail on March 10, 2026.

A large cruise ship with red funnels and multiple decks sails on a calm ocean under a blue sky with scattered clouds, promising an enchanting Disney adventure for all aboard.

The unique Disney Cruise Line ship began its life as the Global Dream, commissioned by Genting Hong Kong’s Dream Cruises. Construction began in 2018, but Genting collapsed before the ship could be finished. Disney Cruise Line purchased it in 2022. It will be Disney’s largest cruise ship, accommodating up to 6,000 passengers. It will operate exclusively out of Singapore.

Features will include a Storybook Castle in the ship’s Imagination Garden atrium, a Captain Jack Sparrow show, a Duffy and Friends show, and Marvel rides. Check out first looks at merchandise and menu items.
