An aerial overview of Animation Courtyard shows construction work that is taking place behind the scenes and away from guests at Hollywood Studios. Currently, prep work is underway for foundation and utilities.

Photos from @bioreconstruct show what is going on behind the scenes. We have been sharing frequent updates to the space, but the aerial overview provides a different insight.
Currently, safety netting surrounds several areas in the work site. The aerial photos also show several large holes that are dug into the ground in between the two show buildings, as well as a square shape surrounded by what appears to be scaffolding, which is likely for some type of foundation work.
A trench is currently being dug around the show building in the photo above. Piles of dirt, construction equipment, and an excavator are scattered throughout the area.
In the close-up above of the front of the now-extinct Star Wars Launch Bay, you can see the footers that are now in place for the Sorcerer hat.
Except for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, Animation Courtyard has been closed since September to make way for new attractions. The area is being reimagined as a new space themed to the Walt Disney Studios, which will include The Magic of Disney Animation.
