Tropical Americas has replaced DinoLand, U.S.A. on the Adventurers Outpost meet and greet backdrop in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The Adventurers Outpost is one of the few locations guests can meet Mickey and Minnie together at the same time in Walt Disney World. Now, the meet and greet location has an updated backdrop that references the upcoming Tropical Americas Land at Animal Kingdom.

The tapestry-like background features several nods to lands in Animal Kingdom, including Discovery Island, Africa, Asia, and now, Tropical Americas, which is represented by an image of Casita from Encanto, a reference to the attraction currently under construction.

As you can see in this photo from 2022, DinoLand, U.S.A. used to be represented on the backdrop by a skeletal brachiosaurus in the same spot.

Tropical Americas is replacing DinoLand, U.S.A. and will be home to the village of Pueblo Esperanza, a wood-carved animal carousel, and an Indiana Jones ride (replacing DINOSAUR, which has its last day of operations tomorrow, February 1). The land is scheduled to open in 2027.
