The years-long reimagining of Downtown Disney District continues with multiple new buildings under construction and new business on the way.

Downtown Disney District Construction

A few months ago, concrete foundation was poured for the new Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ restaurants. Since then, there has been little vertical progress. The venues are scheduled to open this year.

Coming soon to Downtown Disney District is Cathy’s Cookies. This kiosk with a “Coming Soon” sign is between Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill and the LEGO Store. The cookie company has previously had limited-time pop-up shops in Downtown Disney.

Speaking of the LEGO Store, it’s currently surrounded by fencing as the facade goes through a refresh. We previously reported on updates to the Prince Phillip and Maleficent display. Although it’s been a month since then, work continues outside the shop.

The new Earl of Sandwich including Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is coming along. The new structure and scaffolding are surrounded by scrim. But you can see the approximate shape of the building behind the scrim.

For reference, above is concept art.

Also under construction at Downtown Disney District is Porto’s Bakery. Two ticket booths were completely demolished to make space and now there’s scaffolding around the former La Brea Bakery.

The lower half of the scaffolding is covered in scrim. Behind the scrim, we didn’t see significant changes yet, but the building is expected to be demolished. It housed a temporary Earl of Sandwich for a few years.
