From the Disneyland Monorail, we caught a glimpse of demolition in the Esplanade and Downtown Disney District. Two ticket booths and the former La Brea Bakery are being demolished to make way for the new Porto’s Bakery & Cafe.
Downtown Disney Demolition
The ticket booths are completely gone. When we last reported on demolition, we could still see one wall standing. Now there’s just a pile of rubble. In the debris, we can see twisted green railings that were previously around trees and flowerbeds.
Sections of pavement are missing. At the end of the construction site, the La Brea Bakery building is still standing. However, an excavator is at work nearby.
In the foreground of these photos are some of the six remaining Disneyland Resort ticket booths. The booths are rarely used, but guests can purchase tickets in person at the Disneyland Lost and Found booth.

As part of the DisneylandForward expansion project, a pedestrian bridge will be added over Harbor Boulevard, leading to a new Esplanade. Disneyland recently filed a permit for the future site of a parking structure and transportation hub.
