Demolition Continues at the Former La Brea Bakery at Disneyland

A few days ago, we reported that demolition had begun at the former La Brea Bakery in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. Now it appears that work is continuing with much more of the building demolished.

Demolition Update

An excavator digging at the site of the former La Brea Bakery.

The building that once housed La Brea Bakery and then Earl of Sandwich is quickly being torn down. The demolition permit was approved in December. Before the demolition of the actual building began, two ticket booths were demolished, railings were removed, and pavement was torn up.

In our last update, the majority of the building had been torn down, with one section left. As you can see in the above comparison, on the right, we can see that today, it appears that the concrete pillars remain standing. On the left is what was left of the building a few days ago.

This morning, an excavator was actively removing debris from the construction site. Beams and other building debris can be seen above the construction wall.

Before the start of construction, this is what the building looked like:

Porto’s Bakery is taking the place of La Brea Bakery, and Earl of Sandwich is getting a new location elsewhere in Downtown Disney.
