A filing with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection reveals the first details of the new playground that will be part of Tropical Americas in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney previously announced with the closing of The Boneyard that the land would get a play area, but did not share any specifics.
Tropical Americas Playground

The documents show the location of the playground on the site of Cretaceous Trail. Located near DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus, this trail is currently home to the Daisy Duck and Chip ‘n’ Dale meet and greets. It looks like the playground will include at least two slides and a climbing structure.
DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus will close permanently after this Sunday, marking the end of DinoLand U.S.A. The area will reopen as Tropical Americas in 2027 with DINOSAUR reimagined into an Indiana Jones ride, as well as a new Encanto ride and carousel.
