Disney Permit for Wall Installation in Sir Mickey’s at Magic Kingdom

A new permit filed by Disney is for the installation of a wall in Sir Mickey’s at Magic Kingdom, likely where the PhotoPass studio used to be.

The PhotoPass studio closed in September and there has been a blue curtain in front of the space since then. The studio was open to all guests but particularly advertised to those who had just finished the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience. Sir Mickey’s is a gift shop directly across from Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland.

The area has been untouched for four months but the new Notice of Commencement suggests construction will finally begin. Don’t expect anything new and exciting, though. The permit is for the installation of a 6-foot high wall inside the shop. JCQ Services has been hired for the work.

The permit was simply filed by Walt Disney World, not Imagineering, which handles thematic changes, or Facilities Asset Management, which handles maintenance work.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique debuted simplified packages, a Fairy Godmother meet and greet, and new cast member costumes in October soon after the PhotoPass studio closed.
