Refurbishments are underway at Disneyland Resort as “it’s a small world” has officially closed as of yesterday, January 26, 2026. The closure is for the removal of the holiday overlay.
Closure of ‘it’s a small world’ at Disneyland

We stopped by “it’s a small world” at around 10:30 a.m. PST on our visit to Disneyland today. The ride closed yesterday, January 26, so that the holiday overlay can be removed. While a Santa hat still adorns the Clock Tower, crews are hard at work outside.

Scaffolding has been installed at the far corner of the ride, presumably for the holiday overlay removal and/or general facade refurbishment.

The queue entrance has been blocked off with temporary walls to prevent guests from entering the ride.

Several crew members were spotted inspecting and refurbishing the fencing within the queue.
There is no current reopening date for the ride yet, though the calendar on Disneyland’s website only goes out as far as March 10, 2026.
