Early Screening of 'The Muppet Show' Special Coming for D23 Gold Members

D23 Gold Members will have the opportunity to view The Muppet Show special a day early through an advance streaming screening.

D23 Gold Theater Presents The Muppet Show Advance Screening

As previously reported, the new special follows Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo and the gang as they return to the Muppet Theatre to produce a variety show featuring Sabrina Carpenter as the guest star.

The Muppet Show will premiere on Disney+ and ABC on February 4, 2026. However, D23 Gold Members will have access to an early screening of the special on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 6 p.m. PT and 9 p.m. ET through D23 Gold Theater. The viewing will include a live chat where viewers can discuss the special event as it airs.

The returning veteran Muppet performers include Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel. The special was announced in September. Though it’s only a single special, it could serve as a backdoor pilot for a full revival of The Muppet Show. Its 2026 premiere coincides with the 50th anniversary of the original series created by Jim Henson, which ran from 1976 to 1981.

The Muppet Show special is directed by Alex Timbers and executive produced by Sabrina Carpenter, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Vogel, Jacobson, David Lightbody, Leigh Slaughter, Michael Steinbach, Albertina Rizzo, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee. Check out the trailer below:
