First Order Cargo Store Being Replaced, More Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise & Food Updates at Disneyland

Upcoming changes to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland will include a renaming of First Order Cargo and other changes at shops in the land. The updates involve incorporating multiple Star Wars eras, specifically the original trilogy, even though the land has been set during the sequel trilogy since its 2019 opening.

First Order Cargo

First Order Cargo will become Black Spire Surplus. No longer selling exclusively First Order and Imperial items, it will now be “a military salvage operation offering artifacts from across the history of the galaxy, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War.” The Galactic Civil War is the war of the original trilogy.

In the storyline, it is operated by two retired Clone Troopers, one who sympathized with the Rebellion, and another who was a supporter of the Galactic Empire.

There will be aesthetic changes throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, including new props and graphics. Black Spire Outpost, specifically, will “roll back in time several decades.” Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities “will display a different array of one-of-a-kind items from its past.”

The timeline of Droid Depot will shift, now operated by an earlier generation of the Mubo family, who are prototyping the BB style of droid. According to the Droid Depot backstory, the current owner, named Mubo, is a sixth-generation droid builder. Guests will still be able to create and purchase droids.

Disney didn’t describe any changes to Savi’s Workshop but said, “In his search for information on lightsabers and the Force, Luke Skywalker will be interested in meeting with Savi.” This may mean Luke will appear near the shop, where guests can build-your-own lightsaber.

Food and Beverage

At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, the latest updates will also expand on current food and beverage offerings. Guests can still expect favorite flavors like Blue Milk and Ronto Wraps to remain part of the experience, but Walt Disney Imagineering is also actively developing new food and beverage offerings for the land.
