Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal Islands of Adventure closed in early January for an 11-month refurbishment. Scrim and construction walls decorated with dinosaurs now surround the attraction.

The viewing area round the ride’s iconic drop is blocked by walls and scrim-covered fences. We could still get a glimpse of the building in the distance.

The walls are adorned with flats of different dinosaurs from the Jurassic Park franchises, as well as the classic T. rex skull logo.

For now, there are no signs of construction behind the walls. But work might already be underway on the ride where we can’t see.

Near the ride’s closed entrance is a dinosaur about to chomp down on a toilet, inspired by a famous scene in the first Jurassic Park film.

One long stretch of walls features the head and four legs of a long-necked dinosaur appearing to lean down towards guests.

A sign informs guests the ride is currently closed and expected to reopen in late 2026. The current scheduled reopening date is November 20.
