Lakeshore Lodge A-Frame Cabins Progressing in Aerial Update

Aerial photographer @bioreconstruct has been busy providing updates on construction projects around Walt Disney World. Among those is an update on Disney Lakeshore Lodge.

Aerial photographer bioreconstruct shared these photos on X. The resort is under construction on the former River Country site next to Fort Wilderness, across the water from the abandoned Discovery Island. Disney Lakeshore Lodge will have a nature theme and is scheduled to open in 2027.

From these aerial angles, we can see just how large the next Disney resort is. All three “wings” and courtyard area are taking shape as construction continues. The Porte Cochere entrance is rapidly progressing, and we can also see the continued construction on the A-frame cabins that line the shore on either side of the resort.

The A-frame cabins are becoming more complete with roofing tar added to many. Others have plywood sheathing added over the metal beams.

Crews seem to be focused on those closest to the resort’s main building. Many of the other cabins, including those near Clementine Beach, are just framed with a combination of wood and steel.

A crane still sits on a Floatmaster in the water with a dock under construction in the lake. Currently, the “dock” is mainly just supports in the water. Some structure is starting to appear nearest land.

Near the lakeshore, the building believed to be lakefront bar or restaurant now has roofing and additional steel structures around the perimeter. These might be for covered outdoor seating. When the resort was first announced, it was marketed as a Princess and the Frog-inspired location set to be a full-on, standalone table service restaurant on Bay Lake. However, not that plans for the resort have changed, this may not be the case.

Concrete and utility work also continues on the lazy river and main resort pool. The lazy river is a nearly complete oval of concrete next to the concrete pool foundation, which includes steps at one end and a ramp at the other end. The lazy river is directly behind the resort’s entrance.

In other courtyard areas of the resort, smaller “quiet pools” are under construction. Many of the roofline overhangs now also have blue sheathing as they are prepared for final touches.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is a Disney Vacation Club resort and will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”
