One of the returning fan-favorite aspects of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is the Expression Section. Here, guests participate in a huge group paint-by-numbers mural each day.
The Expression Section
This free activity is open from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. or until the mural is complete for the day, weather permitting.

It’s located on the walkway between World Showcase and the Imagination! Pavilion.

To participate, guests can go to the Paint Distribution booth to pick out the color they want to use and receive a sponge brush.

A Cast Member assigns each party to one of the sections numbered on the ground. Cast Members ask that each guest paint just five squares on the mural to make sure the largest number of guests can participate each day.

If you have leftover paint, it’s usually considered acceptable to touch up other already-painted squares of the same color.

Once done, throw the paintbrush and paint in the trash cans.
Each guest who participates will receive a complimentary bookmark that shows the whole mural they helped paint. A few mural designs will rotate throughout the festival but each design focuses on EPCOT. On the first day, we helped create a pixel-style piece designed by Jason Tammemägi featuring families enjoying the park.

We later helped with a mural of Figments in different accessories and bursts of color. This piece was designed by Desirée M. Bula Riviera.

Another mural by Remi Jeffrey-Coker is inspired by all the EPCOT festivals. Art supplies, flowers, food and wine, and holiday icons are pictured against EPCOT elements like the Monorail, Spaceship Earth, and Skyliner.

A fourth mural features different pavilions of the World Showcase, including Mexico, China, France, and more. The monorail runs behind Spaceship Earth, which is in the center of the mural.
