Permit for Drainage Improvements to Oga’s Cantina at Disneyland Resort

Disney filed a permit for drainage improvements at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. The bar is currently closed for a timeline shift that will affect the Oga’s Cantina backstory.

The permit description reads:

Tenant Improvement: Saw cut concrete around existing bar to install new floor drains and scupper-style walls. Apply waterproof plaster along base of walls.

While cutting concrete sounds drastic, we believe this work is just for updates to the drainage system. These changes likely won’t be noticeable to guests.

The timeline update to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will set half the land during the original trilogy and half during the sequel trilogy. There will be aesthetic changes throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, possibly including Oga’s. The timeline shift will officially go into effect on April 29 but guests might see updates before that date.

A reopening date for Oga’s Cantina hasn’t been announced.
