A person climbed on top of a Disneyland Monorail train recently, reportedly while it was stuck on the evening of January 8.
A TikTok posted by user @jessnj._ shows someone (likely a guest) crouched on top of the Monorail’s lead car while the train is stopped. Though some theorized this is why the Monorail was stuck for several hours on Thursday evening, it was confirmed that stop was caused by a power outage.
It also would have been nearly impossible to get on top of the Monorail while it was in motion. It seems the person climbed up there while it was stopped, maybe in hopes of getting down during the power outage.
We don’t have any specific information about this guest, whether they returned to a Monorail car and/or were banned from Disneyland Resort.
The Monorail line went down at about 3:30 p.m. on January 8. The Anaheim Fire Department responded just before 5 p.m. and the final guests were evacuated by 7 p.m. Authorities said there were no injuries.
