Reminder: Disney Skyliner to Temporarily Close for Refurbishment

The Disney Skyliner transportation system at Walt Disney World Resort will temporarily close for refurbishment very soon.

The Skyliner will close for a routine maintenance refurbishment starting this Sunday, January 25. The closure will run from January 25-31, 2026. During the closure, guests are encouraged to utilize Disney’s complimentary bus service.

And, although it is still a year away: Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment from January 24, 2027, through January 30, 2027.

The Disney Skyliner is a gondola lift system that opened in 2019 at Disney World. It is connected across several resort hotels and can bring guests to EPCOT International Gateway or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The resort properties with Skyliner access are Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

The transportation system comprises five stations and a fleet of more than 250 gondola cabins that hold up to 10 guests, or up to six with an open wheelchair or electric scooter.

This mode of transportation is the only gondola system in North America to have separate stationary loading and unloading platforms at each station, with the except of Disney’s Riviera Resort station. It’s also the second double-loading aerial lift system in the U.S.
