REVIEW: Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Brings New Beverages

The 70th anniversary of Disneyland is in full swing, and new food and beverages have debuted across the resort. Check out our review of a few of the many beverages that are available, including the Lemon Chiffon Tea and the Strawberry Pistachio Shake.

Lemon Chiffon Tea – $7.29

Sweet Tea topped with Lemon Chiffon Foam

Review: This was tart and very lemon-forward and had an interesting texture with the thicker cream on top of the sweet tea. Once you stir it, it is well-balanced. The tea isn’t very sweet, just enough that it makes it similar to an Arnold Palmer when mixed with the lemon. You have to like the lemon tart or lemon chiffon flavor. Our reporter enjoyed it, but wouldn’t go out of her way to get it. A solid “Good.”

Yuzu Lemonade – $7.79

Flavored lemonade with touch of Floral Yuzu Juice and Rainbow Jelly topping

Review: This was refreshing, with a good balance of tart and sweetness with a floral taste. The Yuzu flavor was strong, unique, and enjoyable. This isn’t for everyone, but those who like these flavors will enjoy it. The Rainbow Jellies are nice texturally, but have no real flavor. This is a fresh standard lemonade with a floral note and solid yuzu flavor throughout. Our reporter found this item hard to describe, but rates it higher than the Tea above.

Strawberry, Hazelnut, Chocolate & Pistachio Mickey Shake – $14.29

Strawberry Shake with Pistachio Whipped Topping, Fried Kataifi, and Chocolate Sauce

Review: Surprisingly excellent. The shake itself was a nice, subtle strawberry, akin to a chocolate-covered strawberry or strawberries and cream, a very nice complement to the strong, nutty pistachio whip cream. The chocolate sauce and crunch was great and gave it flavor like Dubai chocolate. Nothing tasted artificial, nor too sweet. This a flavorful, delicious dessert that adults would love as well.
