The 70th anniversary of Disneyland is in full swing, and new food and beverages have debuted across the resort. Check out our review of a few of the many food items that are available, including Moonliner and Baymax Macarons, Infinity Puffs, and the San Fransokyo Stir Fry with Chicken.
Disneyland 70th Anniversary Food Reviews
Moonliner Macaron – $8.79

White Macaron with Colored Chocolate; filled with Salted Caramel Buttercream, Ganache and Brownie Pieces, topped with a Chocolate Decoration.
The exterior of the macaron is a good type of flaky and has a nice texture to it. The Macaron itself is very sweet and mainly tastes of the salty, salted caramel filling. Once you reach the rich character ganache at its center, the flavors complement each other well. Kids will like it, but it could use more chocolate ganache filling, though it was still pretty good.
Our reporter removed a point for how sweet the salted caramel filling was by itself. It wasn’t her favorite macaron, but definitely not her least favorite either. The color pattern of the macaron is a reference to the TWA Moonliner, a former icon of Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, though the logo on it matches Alien Pizza Planet.

Sweet Heat Beignet Chicken Sandwich – $15.29

Served with collard greens and house-made pickles.
There is more heat to this sandwich than sweetness, but it is very good. The beignets are the traditional Tiana’s staple with a honey drizzle. The coleslaw is decent but nothing out of the ordinary. The big piece of chicken is tossed in mild to medium buffalo sauce and well-cooked.

The sides are just fine. They consist of pickled onions and peppers instead of pickles, but have a tangier pickled bread and butter flavor. Our reporter is not a fan of collard greens, but they tasted like regular collard greens to her palate. The points are for the very flavorful sandwich, though our reporter wished there was more sandwich to match the size of the chicken and more pickles.

San Fransokyo Noodle Stir-Fry with Karaage- inspired Crispy Chicken – $18.99

Karaage Chicken, Fried Tofu, Broccoli, Mushroom, Sesame Oil, and Soy Sauce
The chicken is a large portion and well-cooked, but had no extra flavor to it. The noodles are also a good portion with mushrooms and broccoli, but the flavor was too earthy and almost off-putting, and it wasn’t the fault of the mushrooms. The tofu was fine, well-cooked, but had little to no flavor to it. Our reporter was disappointed and would have liked some sauce alongside the dish.

Matcha-Raspberry Baymax Macaron – $7.79

Vanilla macaron filled with Raspberry Gelée and Matcha Buttercream
This is our reporter’s favorite macaron of the day, though you’ll need to like raspberry and matcha to enjoy this as well. The first bite is akin to a smooth matcha vanilla latte, but when you get to the center filling, you will be hit with a strong tart raspberry, which does not have an artificial taste to it. The balance is good if you like those flavors. This probably isn’t for everyone.

Infinity Cream Puffs – $9.50

Six Mini Cream Puffs with Raspberry, Cotton Candy, Key Lime, Strawberry, Pabana, and Orange Cream Flavors
Our reporter was surprised at the quality of these puffs. Every one is filled well with different, mostly fruity, flavors. It can be compared to a choose-your-own-adventure or a fun surprise gauntlet if you don’t know the flavors. It’s perfect for sharing, and not too sweet, with the possible exception of the cotton candy one. However, it still isn’t cloyingly sweet. The fruit flavors are all the right strength. This is an enjoyable, fun, and unique dessert. Our reporter docked a point for the fact that they are just cream puffs and did not have the desire to get these again.

Mickey-Shaped Cinnamon Roll Macaron – $9

Cinnamon Roll Macaron Shell filled with Cream Cheese Buttercream and Cinnamon Caramel
All our reporter tasted was caramel. Why is there so much? The cream cheese buttercream is good and so is the caramel, but the cinnamon is barely present. We didn’t get a cinnamon roll vibe at all. It’s a better than average macaron but not special. It’s sticky and messy from the caramel.
