Ride Vehicle Sinks on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland

A Disneyland guest shared their wetter-than-expected experience on a sinking log on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland.

Tiana log sinks at Disneyland

Reddit user u/advictoriam5 shared photos in a post on the Disneyland subreddit today showing a rather harrowing experience on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

According to advictoriam5, him and his girlfriend encountered a stop after the ride’s primary drop. A number of logs (ride vehicles) can be seen back-to-back in one of his photos, as occassionally happens for technical issues or loading delays on the ride.

The nature of the log’s malfunction or the cause of the sudden water surge is unclear, but reportedly their vehicle was the only one affected. At first the water intake was “minimal”, but after a “40-45 minute wait”, estimates advictoriam5, and a “slight tilt”, the resulting flood within their log can be seen in the photos below.

Advictoriam5 also shared that this was their first time riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Disneyland staff provided “clothing vouchers” to exchange in a store on property for a change of clothing, and offered complimentary lightning lane for the night.

The experience does look and sound rather dramatic, but they seem to have taken it in stride.

My girlfriend also INSISTED on sitting in the front, the first time we rode it. She played herself and knew better to complain about it, rest of the day … We got clothing vouchers, all good

Another user on Instagram shared a different angle of the affected ride vehicle after the guests evacuated:

Sinking ride vehicles are not unheard of for water rides at Disney parks or indeed at any modern theme park. Back in November, we reported on a Living with the Land boat at EPCOT taking on water, following a similar incident in the prior month.
