Ryan Reynolds is still working on another Deadpool movie amid his wife Blake Lively’s defamation legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

According to Puck sources, Reynolds is focused on the next Deadpool film to “give him a chance to be seen as the public loves him most.” Puck’s story focused on Reynolds’ and Lively’s drops in public favor, despite starring in major blockbuster successes.

One Puck source who has been helping Reynolds with the legal case said he understood Reynolds’ support of Lively if he truly felt she’d been harassed, but, “Having said that, if that isn’t the case, this is the dumbest f***ing thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Deadpool & Wolverine, the third film in the franchise starring Reynolds, became the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time and the second-highest-grossing film of 2024, behind Inside Out 2. It was the first Deadpool feature to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and featured the return of Hugh Jackman as an alternate universe version of Wolverine.

Reynolds has indicated he doesn’t necessarily want another film with Deadpool as the main character but previously teased a possible X-Men film that would include Deadpool in a supporting role.

Several X-Men actors will reprise their roles in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
