The wooden forms in a hole in the ground outside Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin have been filled with concrete and removed. The Magic Kingdom ride is undergoing a major overhaul and has been closed since last summer.

Over the past couple of days, concrete has been poured into the wooden forms we reported on last week. Then once the concrete had solidified, the forms were removed, leaving an oblong block of concrete with electrical conduit sticking out of it, and a thin trench in the center. We don’t know exactly what will go on this base, but it’s clearly for some kind of new entrance structure, as all of the old infrastructure has been torn down.

Most of the pavement in front of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been removed.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is scheduled to reopen this spring with new ride vehicles, handheld blasters, and interactive targets.
