On its final day of operations before officially going extinct, DINOSAUR closed down for almost an hour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
DINOSAUR Goes Down on Last Day

DINOSAUR has consistently posted long waits in the days ahead of its closure as guests take their final turns on the Time Rover. With DinoLand U.S.A.’s eventual transformation into Tropical Americas, DINOSAUR will be rethemed to an Indiana Jones attraction with a brand new story set in a Mayan temple. The DINOSAUR ride track is already a near-duplicate to Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland, making the switch relatively easy.
Our reporter first noted that DINOSAUR was “temporarily closed” at around 10:58 a.m. It did not reopen to guests until 11:56 a.m., almost an hour later, and immediately posted a 140-minute wait time.
By 12:45 p.m. the wait time had skyrocketed to 200 minutes, and Cast Members shared that Lightning Lane was taking upwards of 45-60 minutes.
Meanwhile, Restaurantosaurus is at capacity with Cast Members limiting the number of guests inside. Restaurantosaurus opened 30 minutes early to meet guest demand on its last day of service.

Animal Kingdom is open until 8 p.m. tonight. We don’t know if DINOSAUR will stay open past closing time to accommodate all guests waiting in the queue at park close.
It’s a tough day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom overall, as record-breaking cold temperatures in central Florida necessitated adjustments at all the Walt Disney World parks. This includes delayed openings for several outdoor and water rides, including Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids.

For the hour DINOSAUR was unavailable, four of Animal Kingdom’s seven rides were simultaneously closed: DINOSAUR, Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, and Kali River Rapids.
