A family on the Disney Wonder was left confined and confused after the onboard medical staff said their daughter had some kind of viral illness and needed isolation.
Family Quarantined

The family’s mother, known as @themomladytm on TikTok, has been chronicling the family’s time on the ship after they were confined to quarantine in their cabin. “Something doesn’t feel right in my mama bones,” she said in the first video.
This all happened after her daughter fell and hit her face at the Oceaneer Club, which was not reported to the parents, and subsequently woke up “screaming in agony” at 2 a.m. She had a slight fever, but not too high, according to the video. At that point, she was taken to see the medical staff, where her daughter was diagnosed with a viral illness and given antibiotics.
Around 6:30 a.m. the next morning, medical called the family’s cabin and asked them to come back as soon as possible. By 8 a.m., when they arrived at medical, the team gave the daughter a clinical diagnosis that required isolation for a long period of time. They then told the family they could “exit the ship and fly home” or spend five days in isolation. The doctors suspected her daughter had the mumps.
“My spidey senses were up, 100%,” themomladytm said on TikTok. The first video was posted about 48 hours after the incident at Oceaneer Club, with no closure after reporting the fall and lack of contact from Oceaneer Club to Guest Services. The family reportedly spoke to the doctors on board and their own doctors. Medical staff reportedly wanted to check the family’s immunization record and were pushing the family to leave the ship.
The family stayed in isolation in their cabin following the second visit to the ship’s medical facility. Though themomladytm emphasizes in her latest video, if there was any indication anyone in her family was sick before embarkation, they would’ve moved their cruise as they had trip insurance.
It appears, per the updates to the TikTok videos, that the family was released after three days in quarantine rather than the full five.
