New concept art of Grizzly Peak has been added to the construction walls surrounding Grizzly River Run during its refurbishment at Disneyland Resort.
Grizzly Peak Concept Art Added
On our visit to Disney California Adventure today, February 17, we noticed new concept art has been added to the construction walls that surround Grizzly River Run while the ride is closed for refurbishment.
The first artwork shows a painted top-down view of the entire water ride in the park. The brown-and-green buildings of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel can be seen in the top corner of the artwork, while other iconic attractions like the Eureka Mill Building can be seen.
Another set of framed artworks shows black-and-white sketches of concept art for early designs of Grizzly Peak. The mountain shows more parts of a grizzly bear, like the legs. It also appears to say “97” in the corner of one artwork, suggesting the concept art was created in 1997.
The last pair of art pieces depicts the more familiar Grizzly Peak mountain design in black-and-white sketch and full watercolor.
Grizzly River Run continues to be closed for refurbishment. Our latest update noticed crews preparing to repaint thematic elements of the ride.
