After reportedly running without the teleportation effect for weeks, a cast member has confirmed to us that the effect is now restored in the pre-show for the EPCOT attraction.
Cosmic Rewind Pre-Show Fully Operational Again

The second pre-show room for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind normally features an effect where you are teleported from the pavilion to a “spaceship,” which practically translates into the room going black for a split-second after a bright flash, which leads to the walls quickly moving upward to reveal the full room. When one of our staff members visited the attraction multiple times earlier this month, they noticed the effect was not available.
The walls were permanently raised when entering the room, which led to an unfortunate show for guests. The broken effect can be viewed below:
According to an attraction cast member, the pre-show is back to normal. This effect may come and go, so be sure to let us know on social media what you experience when you ride!
It has been a busy week at EPCOT, as the updated Frozen: Ever After animatronics made their debut this week, and several Flower & Garden topiaries have been unveiled unusually early. The breadfruit tree has been removed from Living with the Land, and Festival of the Arts is ongoing until February 23, 2026.
Watch our honest review of Cosmic Rewind below, as well as the full ride POV with fully working pre-show:
