The A-Frame cabins at Disney’s upcoming Lakeshore Lodge continue to progress, with our newest construction update. Among other updates, the parking lot also appears to have a structure that could become covered shade.
Lakeshore Lodge Construction
From the water, we got a look at steady progress on the A-Frame cabins that will be part of the new resort. Disney Lakeshore Lodge is being built next to Fort Wilderness Resort on the former River Country site, across the water from the abandoned Discovery Island in Bay Lake.
The Disney Vacation Club resort, set to open in 2027, will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”
More roofing is being added to the angular overhangs that reflect the porte cochere structure.
Some are still just frameworks, although it appears work is underway to add roofing soon.
Work on the building above, believed to be a lakefront bar or restaurant, continues. It appears that this building may also receive roofing elements soon.
When the resort was first announced, it was marketed as a Princess and the Frog-inspired location set to be a full-on, standalone table service restaurant on Bay Lake. However, now that plans for the resort have changed, this may not be the case.
Getting closer to the shore, Crew Members were present working on the wing closest to Fort Wilderness.
Those lifted in the bucket truck worked to paint the steel beams that are part of the overhangs.
From the water, we also noticed a structure surrounding what is believed to be a lazy river.
Currently, the structure is mainly cinder blocks surrounded by scaffolding.
The cabins along Clementine Beach have received much more framing in the past weeks.
Notably, these cabins have been further behind those on the opposite side of the resort, some of which already have roofing.
Crews also continue working on the entrance and porte cochere. This side of the entrance area will be seen from the interior courtyard of the resort.
On the opposite side, the angular entrance porte cochere continues to receive additional concrete reinforcement. This extended covered area will allow vehicles to pass through and will make it easy for guests to check in and out.
Other angular structures have been added to what will likely be the parking lot area.
From road side, we could also see red supports in the parking lot area. These almost look like future covered parking, which would be a different concept for Disney.
