The playground in the World Discovery neighborhood of EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort has added new grass as part of an ongoing refurbishment. The space has been fully closed since mid-January, although construction walls have been up next to the playground since November 2025.
World Discovery Playground Refurbishment
The playground is blocked by rolling planters, but over those planters, we could see three brand-new fabric shade structures, which we reported on last week.
Looking through the planters, it appears this refurbishment is more of a refreshing of the playground, though it is unclear how much longer this space will remain closed. Our reporter spotted several open patches that still need new grass.
