REVIEW: New Harambe Market Menu, Including the Savanna Salad and Kubwa Cookie

As the newly refurbished Harambe Market reopens at Animal Kingdom, we headed over to check out the revitalized menu. Here are our thoughts!

1/3 lb. Angus Bacon Cheeseburger – $13.99

Served with French fries

This is a pretty decent burger, maybe a bit better than a fast-food burger. It is not served with any condiments or sauce, just cheese, tomato, and lettuce. It was grilled more than your typical quick-service burger and tasted fresh. It was juicy and not overcooked.

Chicken Strips – $10.99

Served with French fries

These are the same chicken tenders and fries across property. Harambe Market has honey mustard and ranch for dipping, in addition to ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard. There are four total strips in this entree.

Savanna Salad – $11.29

Mixed greens, lentils, carrots, couscous, kachumbari, toasted almonds, and citrus-harissa dressing

First of all, the salad has cilantro in it. So cilantro alert. This salad has a super earthy taste, which is hard to describe. Californians would likely call this a “power salad.” You’ll need to eat the couscous Kachumbari part to taste something, as the salad itself doesn’t have much taste.

The couscous kachumari tastes a bit like a pea or bean paste. The almonds also provide some texture for the salad.

Topped with chocolate cream cookies, potato chips, M&M’s milk chocolate candies, and dulce de leche

Kubwa Cookie at Harambe Market in Animal Kingdom

Disney tried to make this cookie like Gideon’s Bakehouse, but thinner and crisper. It’s salty and sweet; the chips are the best part. The dulce de leche adds too much sweetness in one spot and should be spread out. This cookie is a bit chewy and not too crunchy, but the M&M’s give you texture. This is a good addition and a good Disney cookie.
