A stretch of the boardwalk running from Liberty Square into Frontierland is now closed due to adjacent construction of Piston Peak National Park.

The entrance to the boardwalk closest to the former Liberty Square Riverboat Landing has been closed off with construction walls. Previously, guests could walk between the brown and white walls to still access the boardwalk.

Where Liberty Square meets Frontierland, the walls have shifted, revealing a freshly paved section of red pavement. Trees and a water feature sometimes called the “Little Mississippi” were removed.

The boardwalk reopens around the corner, past the fort lookout. There are some red panels on the ground where Disney may be planning more flooring work or to keep the planks protected from construction.

Piston Peak National Park will be a Cars-themed extension to Frontierland. Crews have been working on a retaining wall that will partially surround the land. This part of the wall near Liberty Square has grown in height as crew members prepare to pour more concrete.
