While Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is undergoing refurbishment, portions of the ride are not available to see. However, the flying saucer, which was previously covered, is now visible from the PeopleMover.

Normally, the tarp obscures enough so as not to reveal too much of the work being done to the attraction, but it’s possible the lights had been turned on—giving guests on the PeopleMover the ability to see the flying saucer.

Pictured above is what it looks like from the ride itself.

It appears the ring with targets may have been painted a different color, or has been entirely replaced. It does look like it might have a different shape when looking at the two versions side by side. Watch our video below:

Versions of the Buzz Lightyear shooting attraction have existed at all six Disney castle parks in the world. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Hong Kong Disneyland closed in 2017 to become Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! The Tokyo Disneyland version closed in 2024 to be replaced by a Wreck-It Ralph attraction.

The technological updates to the Magic Kingdom ride and the Wreck-It Ralph ride are expected to be similar to Hong Kong Disneyland’s Ant-Man and The Wasp reimagining. Watch our full POV video of that attraction below.
