After Disneyland Resort filed a permit for the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror FastPass distribution area in Disney California Adventure, they have begun painting it.
Painting the Former Tower of Terror FastPass Structure

Although construction walls still surround the area, we could clearly see work actively being completed.

The crew member was painting the back of the structure, which is not visible to us from this angle.

On the front side, crews recently painted portions of the façade gray and orange. It still has some of the Tower of Terror theming with the maroon and gold clock.

Pictured above is what it previously looked like in January 2026.
In January, construction walls went up around the structure. According to the permit that was filed earlier this month, it will be officially converted into an outdoor eating area:
DCA – Avenger’s Campus/BLDG #749 – Change of Use: Convert existing detached fast-pass ticket shade structure into outdoor eating area with new joists. With electrical.
Though FastPass was replaced by Lightning Lane years ago and Tower of Terror was transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in 2017, this structure remained mostly untouched. The FastPass kiosks and signage were removed, but the Art Deco theming of Tower of Terror remained on the structure.
