Scrim has been removed from the facade of the new Earl of Sandwich location at Downtown Disney District, which will also house Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby. The scrim may have been temporarily removed due to weather.

Without the scrim, we can see through the scaffolding to the building itself. The “Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby” sign revealed a few weeks ago is covered by a tarp, keeping it protected during construction. The walls around it have been covered by concrete.

There is a trio of windows right above The Carnaby sign, which is on a white section. Judging by concept art for the building (below), it will eventually be completely white.

To the side of The Carnaby sign and windows is an overhang that will become the floor of a second story terrace. Compare to the concept art below.

The addition of Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is part of a years-long reimagining of Downtown Disney District. The venue is a collaboration between world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay and the creators of Earl of Sandwich. The restaurant will be situated on the second floor above the district’s new Earl of Sandwich location. It’s designed to evoke the cultural energy of London’s Carnaby Street during the 1960s.

The interior and atmosphere of The Carnaby are intended to transport guests to the heart of the “Swinging London” era. Planned features include décor, British pop art, and a soundtrack of British Invasion rock music. Patrons will be able to dine in a bar area, booths, or on outdoor terraces that overlook the district.

The menu will reflect classic British fare that has defined Ramsay’s career, including his signature beef Wellington, traditional fish and chips, and sticky toffee pudding.

In remarks accompanying the announcement, Ramsay emphasized the aim of bringing the “cool Britannia” spirit to the locale, positioning the venue as a destination for both casual dinners and social gatherings.

Ramsay recently visited Disneyland Resort to promote the new pub. An official opening date has not yet been announced.
