A new permit was filed that will affect Walt Disney World’s Cinderella Castle, in addition to the repainting that has already been occurring.
New Permit Filed for Cinderella Castle

The Notice of Commencement calls for the Buena Vista Construction Company to provide “labor, materials, and/or electrical for construction.” The provided address on the permit is for Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. It was filed on February 26, 2026 and will expire in one year. We’re not sure yet how this permit will affect the castle.
The work does not specify what part of the castle is receiving work—exterior vs. interior, restaurant or other area, etc.
Cinderella Castle has been undergoing a lot of work recently. The repainting project to restore the castle’s original color scheme started in late January 2026 with the moat being drained soon afterwards. Just last week, construction vehicles with boom lifts arrived for repainting the bottom half of the castle.
