After the significant cold snap in Orlando six weeks ago, plant life was impacted by the uncommon weather. The palm trees in EPCOT are recovering.

EPCOT Tree Damage

The palm trees that surround Spaceship Earth have begun to regrow their fronds in the weeks following the cold weather. The trees were barely visible, resembling bare flag poles.

Palm trees can come back after a cold snap, though recovery can be slow and take months. They are in various stages of regrowth, with some having more fronds than others.

In the photo above, you can see the trees as they were in February 2026.

Disney had installed “Jack Frost” signage around the parks, letting guests know that they are working to give the plants some TLC after the cold weather.
