Grogu from The Mandalorian appeared at the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday night in a sketch with co-stars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver.
Grogu at the 2026 Oscars

Pascal and Weaver presented the Academy Award for Best Production Design. In addition to appearing alongside Pascal and Grogu in the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu, Weaver has a long history with alien worlds as a star of the Alien and Avatar franchises. She referenced her experience with “the good, the bad, and the downright adorable!”
She blew a kiss to Grogu in the audience. “Baby Yoda” was getting attention from Kate Hudson and Weaver’s maternal side came out as she quoted her famous Aliens line, “Get away from [him], you b****!”
Later, host Conan O’Brien pointed out “Grogu can’t clap!” He asked Grogu to clap but the little alien only lifted his arms in the air. They were played into commercial break by the E.T. theme.
Pascal will reprise his role as the titular Mandalorian alongside Weaver as new character Ward in The Mandalorian and Grogu, in theaters May 22. The movie also stars Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt.
Marvel stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans also reunited on the Oscars stage. Avatar: Fire and Ash took home Disney’s only win.
