Tonight, March 15, is Hollywood’s most famous night, but did you know that the night before the Oscars is a far less prestigious ceremony? The 46th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards (or “Razzies”) celebrated the worst of the year’s cinematic offerings, and the live-action Snow White “won” two accolades.
Live-Action ‘Snow White’ at the Razzies
While this year’s Razzies were dominated by the Amazon Prime screen thriller War of the Worlds, Disney’s live-action Snow White took home two trophies, specifically for its seven unsettling CGI dwarves.

The uncanny valley creations were “honored” with the Golden Raspberry Awards for Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Screen Combo. The latter is notable because it’s the only category in which War of the Worlds lost: the lack of chemistry between Ice Cube and his Zoom camera could not be topped by “All Seven Artificial Dwarfs.”
The Cost of ‘Snow White’
Disney spent about $336.5 million on the live-action Snow White film released last year — more than Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the live-action Beauty and the Beast — and it ultimately cost them $170 million. After movie theaters took their approximately 49% cut of earnings, Disney made just $102.9 million on the remake, which was plagued with bad press and controversy from its inception.
