The high-tech walking Olaf animatronic featured at Disney Adventure World was caught on camera having a rough first Monday on the job.

World of Frozen Olaf Animatronic Takes a Tumble

Opening a new theme park can be stressful work, especially if you happen to be a breakthrough walking snowman animatronic in France.

In a clip that has quickly gone viral online, one guest in the new World of Frozen area of the new Disney Adventure World park, caught the Frozen fan-favorite snowman in a moment of peril.

In the clip, we see Olaf in the middle of an impressive, highly animated performance, when suddenly the animatronic comes to a complete stop. For a brief moment, he stands motionless, eyes-wide and twiggy-arms lowered.

Seconds later, it becomes apparent that the catatonic snowman is starting to lean backward – gradually leaning further and further back before dramatically crashing to the ground.

The force of the fall’s impact is enough to completely pop off his carrot nose. A supervising cast member takes a knee beside the fallen snowman, staying in character as a citizen of Arendelle, as two more cast members promptly swing into action to restore the carrot nose and ultimately remove Olaf from the tragic scene.

At the moment of the collapse, guests in the vicinity can be heard gasping, some even shrieking in shock. One man from the crowd can be heard assessing the situation, calmly stating:

Olaf fall down.

The Show Must Go On For Disney Adventure World

Disney Adventure World, formerly Walt Disney Studios Park, adds several major expansions as of the park’s official opening yesterday, March 29.

The highly anticipated World of Frozen expansion includes a Frozen boat show and Frozen Ever After. Crowds surged into the kingdom of Arendelle, quickly causing the new land to hit capacity on its first day.

For the opening of World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World on Sunday, Walt Disney Imagineering hosted a live panel about creating the land and streamed it online. In that panel, they shared their perfect formula for creating it: triggering music, unbelievable characters, and a beautiful place to visit. A book about the park’s making is also set to be released soon.
